Cutting characteristics of super-thin cutting wheel
The super-thin cutting wheel is mainly used for closing the slot and cutting, and the method of deep and slow feed grinding is generally adopted. It has the characteristics of large grinding depth, small feed speed, large contact area between grinding wheel and workpiece, narrow slit, high metal cutting rate, high grinding precision, good surface quality and high material utilization rate.
The general rule is as follows:
1. The integral type cutting wheel is thin in thickness (mostly below 0.5mm), small in outside diameter (20-100mm), fine in grit size, high in size and shape and position, light in weight, and generally used under the condition of high rotating speed. The general speed is 5,000-40,000 RPM.
2. The base type cutting wheel is mostly thicker (0.5-2mm), larger in diameter (100-200mm), coarse-grained and lower in precision. It is generally used under the condition of large cutting depth at low rotation speed. The general speed is 3000-10000 RPM.
3. The ultra-thin cutting wheel mostly USES fine particle size, and generally the thinner its thickness, the abrasive grain size will be correspondingly fine, and the surface quality is good. However, the finer the abrasive grain size is, the lower the cutting sharpness is, the lower the feeding speed should be, so as to adapt to the machinability of abrasive grain size.
4. The cutting depth of super-thin cutting wheel is generally determined by the user according to the cutting parts. Most of its cutting adopts the slow feed grinding process, and the depth is cut to one time.Therefore, due to the thin cutting wheel and poor cutting conditions (most of which are 3-side contact workpiece), it is difficult to dissipate heat, so it is necessary to increase the cooling of the cutting area (flow rate and pressure).
5. It is recommended to increase the cutting speed or reduce the feed when the cutting wheel is stuck or the workpiece is broken when it is just put into use at the user's place. In case of impracticability or rupture after using for a period of time, it is suggested that the surface of the grinding wheel be edged with a suitable size of whetstone to adjust its sharpness.
6. The surface quality and cutting performance of the workpiece are mainly related to the particle size of super-thin grinding wheel. The finer the particle size is, the better the surface finish is. At the same time with the workpiece material, hardness, cutting dosage, machine conditions, processing requirements and other factors are also related.
7. The super-thin cutting wheel has been reshaped and edged before leaving the factory. Users can use it directly. If the user needs further shaping, it is recommended to use green silicon carbide or white corundum whetstone. The grain size of the grinding wheel is 1-2 times coarser than that of the cutting wheel. If the user needs to make further cutting or use the blade after a period of time, it is recommended to use green silicon carbide or white corundum whetstone with a grit size 1-2 or the same as that of the cutting grinding wheel.
8. Cutting dosage is generally related to the processed materials, hardness, precision, processing requirements, etc., it is recommended that the first use had better be under the original conditions of the user, do not easily change the cutting dosage.
9. The user's service condition is also the main factor affecting the cutting performance, especially the spindle's axial series movement, radial runout, the parallelism of the flange, the dynamic balance precision and so on all directly affect the cutting precision of the cutting wheel.
